TS TIME TO SAY BYE BYE TO MUMBAI Day 1: 12th May, 2009… Landing at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport… First footsteps in the city of dreams… It seemed albeit familiar- the air, the aura, the people, though I had never been here before… After all, it was the city where the next three crucial years of my life were due to be crafted… Day 365X4=1460+68+1=1529… Its a part of me forever now… I can now smell its fragrance in myself… It has blended into my system and I am now proud to realise that I have extracted the positives of this land and its people for good, which will be a major guide to sail me through my journey… I cant thank you enough Mumbai… I cant be grateful to you enough Mumbai… I cant bow down enough to your spirit Mumbai… I cant feel lucky and blessed enough to the people whom I met in your heart Mumbai… You are my second home, you and your people made it my second home… Right from the taxi which dropped me at Assam Bhawan, Vashi from airport on 12th May 2009, to the taxi which will lift me from Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar to drop me at Mumbai central station to catch the Rajdhani on 19th July 2013, it has been more than a memorable journey, experience and learning for me… My teachers, batchmates, seniors, juniors, colleagues, staff of the department, office staff, the innumerable people on roads and trains (and on boats to Alibaugh too), the vada pav-bhaji pav-omlette pav vendors... All have been really great and wonderful additions to my life… Of special mention are my batchmates. We ten, each remarkably unique in our own ways, but still blending into a unit that will laugh, cry, fight, quarrel, party, dance, travel with each other, were the real spice, to the recipe made by some knowledgeable and wonderful teachers (whose guidance and teaching will always be treasured), and few seniors who wont act as seniors only by virtue of academic year, but by virtue of compassion towards juniors, themselves working hard and sincerely to show us the path not by words but by deeds. Plus some obedient and wonderful juniors (some of whom were also very caring personally to me, especially when I would suffer from cough and cold before exams and they will come with a glass of warm dudh-haldi to my room to surprise me sweetly). At this point I also remember how colourful were the nine of us in the first month of Nair before final round of PG counselling- the “Nine planets of our Universe”. That one month was a cracker… As I leave you Mumbai, with wonderful and everlasting memories, I pray you stay the same warm, welcoming and hard working city, full of spirit and joy, with less number of crimes, and live to your reputation forever… Marine drive: I will miss you a lot, especially my walk along all your length alone in the evening, listening to soft music with my earphones… Mumbai- you have given me much much more than I had ever thought. I will always be grateful to you. Most importantly, you have given me some people whom I can very proudly describe as my lifetime achievements... ALL THE BEST MY FRIENDS… GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR A BEAUTIFUL LIFE AHEAD… Will always look for an opportunity to visit Mumbai anytime I get it…
