Under the new set-up, the K-P police, when compared with other provinces’ police, have done a commendable job. With a few exceptions, the crime rate has declined. Similarly, concrete measures have been taken to remove gender discrimination in the police department. New guidelines have also been put in place to provide police protection to female victims of crimes. The IG frequently pays surprise visits to various police stations and far-flung police posts in K-P in order to assess their performance. No doubt, K-P is a terror-stricken province and there is a lot to be achieved here when it comes to maintaining law and order.
