Tagged by James F. Smith to list ten (10) video games that changed my life. 01) Atari Boxing (Atari) My neighbor had Atari and would bring it over to the house. (goo.gl/qSkuNH) I could name other Atari games but that is the one I really remember the most clearly. 02) Pole Position (CoinOp) (goo.gl/5Maeft) Id play the hell out of this game. I must have fed so many quarters into these game cabinets. 03) Test Drive (c64) (goo.gl/1dvKsq) When I got my Commodore 64k I instantly fell in love with this driving simulator. I seriously still thank all my hours behind the wheel for my taking to driving real cars so quickly. 04) Karateka (Apple II) (goo.gl/GcahT1) Among one of the first games I ever played on an Apple computer. In between Oregon Trail and Turtle Graphics using LOGO there was always Karateka. 05) Operation Wolf (CoinOp) (goo.gl/r63qlE) This was among the best plastic-gun shootem up games in the arcade. I played this at Rollerworld in Saugus a whole lot. When it wasnt in use Id play Centipede, Asteroids, or Battlezone. When I wasnt playing this I was finding some cute girl for the couples skate. ;) 06) Space Quest (PC) (goo.gl/YZ8sxh) Oh Sierra Games. I always loved games and computers but during high school I played _so_ much of these games. In particular was Space Quest. Hilarious and very challenging. These games drove home the fact that I absolutely wanted to work in the computer industry. I was fairly certain Id be programming video games for a living. 07) Legend of the Red Dragon (BBS) (goo.gl/HholOK) How could I nearly forget about LORD. Among one of many BBS door games (Trade Wars 2002, Usurper, Food Fight, etc.) I would almost daily check in to take my turns. 08) Star Wars (CoinOp) (goo.gl/HGOFWA) By far, as a kid, this was the one game I could never pass by without freaking out and needing to find a change machine. 09) Shadow Warrior (PC) (goo.gl/YooM7R) Holy LAN party madness. This game was our jam. Wed stay up forever until dawn lobbing grenades and nukes at one another. So, so, good. 10) Wait.. I only get ten? Ive barely covered anything. I guess Ill say EVERQUEST (PC) (goo.gl/5Dl647) This game sucked up more of my life than any other game in my history. I ran a guild for over 3+ years, we had guild meetings at An Tua Nua (Ceremony), it caused real world drama, it forged new real world friends, and it was emotionally exhausting by the time it was all done. I swore never to play another MMO. It was awesome. I barely got to touch on other stuff.. Leisure Suit Larry, Call of Duty, Wizardry, Might and Magic, Final Fantasy, Lemmings, Metroid, Castlevania (really any old NES game.. so much time with friends taking turns getting through games.. that just doesnt happen anymore!), Descent, Rygar, Dragon Warrior, plus plus.. and... and.. gaaah, games rule. I wont tag anyone else.. but if you want to chat about games or list which ones meant the most to you just reply below.
