Taiwo-led executive can’t stand electoral contest in 2015 —Oyo PDP THE Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the Yinka Taiwo-led faction of the party cannot stand the test of election in the state next year because it is “a fraudulent party structure.” This was stated in a statement made available to newsmen by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Lukman Agboluaje, in reaction to a statement credited to Taiwo in which he declared himself the authentic state chairman of the party. Agboluaje said if Taiwo could deceive the national leadership into inviting him for a meeting recently in Abuja as he claimed in the statement, he could not deceive the electorate in Oyo State who would ultimately elect new representatives next year. “We want to remind Taiwo and his cohorts that up till date they have not been able to challenge Senator Rashidi Ladoja’s widely broadcast statement that Teslim Folarin, during one of his visits to him in London, told him that the PDP structure in the state is available to whoever can hijack it. “How would an executive that is being propped up by those who have admitted that they sabotaged the party in 2011 elections and got compensated by the current government they worked for through appointments of their wards and cronies convince the electorate to vote them into power in replacement of a party from which they benefited? “If actually Taiwo is the genuine chairman of the PDP and hopes to lead the party into winning elections, how can he feel comfortable to tell the world that his party members are leaving the PDP for Accord Party? “While other political parties in the state are making efforts to present a cohesive team to the electorate and are telling them reasons why they should be voted into power, these myopic individuals are holding on to a fragmented party that obviously cannot stand any electoral contest,” Agboluaje said.
