Take Him at His Word... Pt 2 And we look at the life of Mary. The revelant question for our discussion has to be, How does one simply... Take Him at His Word?? Marys Belief #1 The Favor of God had Found Her! And the angel came unto her, and said, Hail, thou art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: bless art thou among women. Vs. 28 The phrase Blessed and Highly Favored is so frequently used that it borders on beginning a Christian cliché. But do we really understand what were saying about ourselves when we declare that we are blessed and highly favored? The word Blessed is derived from the root mak, which means fortunate or happy. But, in this context it also means, to consecrate a thing with solemn prayer,it is a pronouncement of consecratory blessing; one that would be favored and approved by God! This blessing would cause this gift to prosper! Blessed... Mary would have to be willing to suffer in meekness.... Why? because she took Him at His word! Blessed... Mary would smile at persecution!! She was blessed alright.. but to whom much is given... much would be required... She also was favored! She was chosen to be approved! What does that mean?? Go read your International Encyclopedia and see what it says about the word approved! (thats an assignment) going to be looking for the definition.
