(AMIV) The other day, my son and our dog were playing outside. First, they were both playing by themselves and were happy, but after a while, they got rather bored. My son came to me and asked what he could play. Our dog also brought me her toy and, by doing so, also let me know that she wanted to play. I really had to do some stuff before I could play with them. So, I realized that I had to teach the two of them how to play together. My son could throw our dogs toy, and she could go and fetch it. Okay, they are not that good at it yet because my son doesnt throw the toy that far yet, and the dog doesnt always want to give it back. They are not doing bad though. I am sure that, with some training and instruction from my side, they will eventually get it. As I thought about this situation, I realized that things that seemed normal and natural to me arent so obvious and natural to others. As parents, we have to teach our children how to do things and to instruct them. They dont just know everything and do it correctly. But, if you show them, they will. Also, as leaders in any area and at any level, we cannot just assume that the people under us just know. No, they dont, and thats the reason why the Lord put us there. It doesnt matter whether you are a mother or a father, are maybe just responsible for something little, or are in a high leadership position. The Lord put you there for a specific reason, and He desires that you take the responsibility seriously that He has given you. Have a look at the people under you, and think about how you could help them to interact to do things better. Often, it might not even be such big things that make things easier, just like in the example that I shared with you. Ask the Lord to help you to help them to make life better, more interesting, and more fun for them. It will not only be fun for them, but also for you because you will see them flourish. If your idea was a good idea, they might also share it with others to spread it.
