Taking up the 7 day Thankfulness/Gratefulness Challenge, as tagged by Anjali Lal Gupta and Neeraj Bali. 1) The kids are off to play, the in-laws are yet to come, the husband is on his long drive home. As I sit and work in an eerily quiet house, the tick-tocking of my father-in-laws various antiquities keeping score alongside, the window on my right frames a cat whos keeping me company, while the one on the left is filled with scarlet blooms amid neon green leaves. If places made writers, Im in the right one. 2) Being able to drive. A handful of years ago, I conquered my fear of driving. I cant imagine what life would have been like if I was still afraid to drive - apart from the fact that theres no public transport here, Ive come to cherish driving along the meandering small roads that connect us to the city, the early morning sun beaming off Ros and my face, us fighting over what to play on the radio. 3) Today, the electricity dint go, the plumber showed up and the cook dint kill us. Lifes good.
