Talent alone is not enough to prosper you to greater heights. Now this is very much something our Ugandan sportsmen should always have in mind.So many of them have crumbled once they make afew back page headlines or win a medal. What they dont realise is that they need to work harder to better the talents.Kitandwe Ivan and Haruna Kyobe are the brains behind vipers fc.During their playing days they epitomised the meaning of work ethic.I remember a game in the local division when Bunamwaya needed a goal to qualify for the mini league;Kyobe scored a goal I will never forget. He passed a ball that beat the opposition backline and continued running thereby beating the trap and slotted home.He put matters in his own hands and got the victory for his beloved team.I have a friend who was without a doubt a great rugby talent, but he took the game for granted and watched mediocre players pass him by because they worked hard.Good thing is,he realised the mistake and moved to correct them.Hes always in the gym,and the first guy at training.Because of that he has become a celebrated rugby lad whos always making headlines. If he had stuck to the notion of talent alone, hed be another would be rugby player. My point should be got after this laboured explanation.Ugandan sportsmen should learn to work harder,to step up,to carry a team on ones shoulders.
