#TalentTuesday Today, I would like to introduce you Nick Broughton (right), Matt Perlow (middle), Josh Freedland (Front Left). They all played football at the collegiate level but they are #NotJustAnAthlete. They are all on pace to graduate this spring while embracing their musical talents. Nick started playing the guitar at a very young age following in his father’s footsteps. Matt wanted to embrace another challenge besides sports so he decided to learn how to play an instrument, which he keeps getting better everyday. Josh spent five months in Hawaii last spring and began to learn their native instrument. He has been influence by his peers and Jack Johnson. Watch them in action below! Here is a testimony from Nick, Matt, and Josh: “To us, being not just an athlete means to poses a wide range of skills off of the field, as well as what we worked towards on it. We want to break the stereotype of athletes being “just football players” and not being recognized for the other talents that they have worked just as hard at. There is an entire life to be lived after the 10 or so years as a football player, and being able to catch, tackle, or block doesn’t have an impact in the world once it is over. But most of all we have fun getting together and learning new songs to one day play in front of a crowd, and even further prove stereotypes wrong.” This what creating a platform for yourself means! #NotJustAnAthlete
