Talked tourism with officials and industry leaders yesterday at Heartland Restaurant in St. Paul. From our smallest lakeside towns to biggest cities, tourism is a big deal. Its Minnesota’s fifth-largest industry with nearly $12.5 billion in sales. As chair of the Senate Tourism Caucus Im leading a bill with Republican Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri to increase international tourism to America. A typical international tourist to the U.S. spends $4,500 – giving a big boost to local businesses and helping create good jobs here at home. We have over 30 cosponsors (half Democratic and half Republican) and it is headed to the Senate floor for passage this fall!
