Talking Story with Haa Keaulana, ocean athlete and photographer: While shooting on the west side for the new swimwear line, we got the chance to catch up with multi-talented local girl, Haa Keaulana. Born and raised in Makaha, and hailing from a family of surf legends, Ha’a has always had a special tie to the ocean. “The Ocean is my playground, happy place, comfort zone, and mind-clearer all in one.” As a lifelong surfer and water athlete, Ha’a conveys her passion and appreciation for the ocean through her underwater photography. The stunning photos capture moments that many may not ever get to experience first-hand. “It all started when I got a junky little waterproof point-and-shoot camera when I was about 16 years old. I was getting really into it with that little thing and wanted to invest in my own DSLR. I sold one of my boards and bought one and from there on, Ive been in love with it ever since.” Her dream location for a shoot? “On a boat in the Maldives.
