Talking of instant anti Modi alliances like Congress - AAP getting together or RJD and JD(U) coming together for power in States will be opportunistic and counter productive .The point is to have a common policy platform for democratic and secular parties , forces ,groups and individuals and joint struggles on issues affecting the people . The Left especially CPI(M) had worked precisely for such a pre poll platform. Now with Naveen, Mamata , Jayalalitha keen to have good working relations with Modi , that platform would be no doubt narrower but more policy based . What lessons the Congress and the Left & AAP have learned from the poll set backs would be crucial to the evolution of such a secular political platform.
