Tarigami announces support to any non-BJP govt SRINAGAR – The Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and legislator from Kulgam constituency Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami Saturday termed it ‘catastrophic’ if alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party is forged for the next government in Jammu and Kashmir. “We know the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) agenda and particularly about Kashmir. If it is allowed to form the government, it would be disastrous and its consequences would be dangerous,” Tarigami said while addressing a press conference here. He said that if BJP is allowed to interfere in the government affairs, the situation could turn dangerous and same must be halted at an earliest. He added that it will not only infringe upon the peace process but would also affect the sovereignty of India. He added that there was a possibility of formation of the government without the support of BJP. “This is not the simple move of the BJP for the government formation but serious plan of RSS to erode whatever unique status we have in the state. I want all political parties, writers, intellectuals to read the warning written on the wall and save the state from the disaster which is in the offing if quick measures are not initiated. “As a citizen I want to suggest that if BJP cares little about the sovereignty of the country, then they must understand the sensitivity of the soil of Kashmir. The time is not far if the steps not taken then the bifurcation of the state would be witnessed,” Tarigami said. Tarigami said he is ready to offer his support to any party that is ready to form the non-BJP government. “I will support any regional party who will keep BJP at bay. The communal agendas of BJP are a serious threat to the secularism of the state.” Tarigami said all those parties who are holding back channel talks with BJP to form the next government should realize its consequences for future. “A better sense should prevail among the regional parties. I appeal all the regional parties to get united and form the next government on secular grounds,” Tarigami added. “My appeal to BJP is not to impose its communal agenda in Kashmir. It is a critical movement of history and we cannot undermine the special status of the state. We have to act and unite to keep BJP at bay,” Tarigami said.
