Weather Situation A low pressure system to the east of the state will move slowly southeast tonight directing fresh to strong southwesterly winds over the state. This airstream will gradually ease later tomorrow as the low moves further away and a ridge extends across the Bight. A weak ridge should cross Tasmania early Friday morning with winds tending northwesterly ahead of a cold front expected during the afternoon and evening. A strong, cool westerly flow continues for Saturday with an embedded front to cross during the afternoon. A high moves into the Bight early Sunday, as a cold front clears the east coast of Tasmania, then extends a ridge over the state by late in the day, this will result in southwest winds easing during the afternoon.
