Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge north of Tasmania to another high south of Western Australia, as a cold front approaches from the southwest. The front will move over Tasmania tomorrow before decaying in the evening as a low over northwestern New South Wales slowly deepens. The low should then move southeastward to become centred over the western Tasman Sea by late Sunday, while a relatively weak high pressure ridge remains near Tasmania. The low is expected to deepen and remain slow moving over the Tasman Sea on Monday while a high south of the Bight maintains a weak ridge near Tasmania. The high to the west is forecast to strengthen a little and remain slow moving on Tuesday as the low moves towards New Zealand.
