Tauck Announces Once-in-Lifetime Baseball Hall of Fame Tour We make no bones about it. Were fans of Tauck and the tours they put together. But if youre a baseball fan (and we are), the Norwalk, Conn.-based tour operator has put together the ultimate event for you. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year with a concert gala headlined by singer/songwriter legend Paul Simon. Tauck has primetime seats to the concert for you as part of a four-day tour scheduled for July 31-Aug. 3. Youll be seated in seats 3 and 4 as Simon plays with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and former Yankees great and noted jazz guitarist Bernie Williams -- just a couple of the special guests scheduled to perform. The tour was co-created by Tauck and baseball historian and documentarian Ken Burns. Tour participants will enjoy a special after hours evening inside the Hall of Fame that includes a chance to tour its exhibits, hear a keynote address from Burns and the chance to meet and mingle with Burns at a cocktail reception. But you wont just observe greatness. Youll get a chance to play with a baseball great. Baseball Hall of Fame member and famed knuckleballer Phil Niekro will pitch to you during a private pick-up game and catered lunch at Cooperstowns legendary Doubleday Field. Niekro will be joined by a roster of former major leaguers, as well as 80-year-old Lois Youngen, who will discuss her days as a catcher and outfielder in the 1950s-era womens baseball leagues. There will be small-group sightseeing tracks and special lectures by baseball experts including author Daniel Okrent, the inventor of Rotisserie League baseball -- the forefather of modern-day fantasy baseball. Guests attending the Tauck Baseball Event will spend three nights in Cooperstown at the Otesaga Resort Hotel. A member of the Historic Hotels of America, the resort overlooks Otesaga Lake and is approximately a half-mile from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Included in the price (from $$4,390 per person, double occupancy, plus air) are all daytime activities and evening festivities, all meals, all gratuities, airport transfers and ground transportation, and much more. Tauck is also providing each guest with a complimentary membership to the Baseball Hall of Fame, allowing them unlimited free visits to the Hall throughout the course of the event.
