“Teach me Lord” What is available to us today to obtain the knowledge of God is truly mind blowing. Today’s world of technology sometimes can be overwhelming but certainly has been life changing. However, even with all that is available we get too busy to utilize these great inventions for the purposes to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, David finds in the middle of his pressures, confusion, failures, sin and just living his daily life…that in Christ there is a way through it all. Psalms 25: 1-3 “In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. 2 I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.3 No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. We are saved because who God is. Not because He’s waiting for us to “make it someday” but He comes to us right where we are at. He offers himself and all that He can do in our lives and be glorified. Sometimes we don’t think of trusting the bank with our money is being faithful…but it is. Every time you walk out your front door and get into your car…that takes faith. Daily living among people in this world takes much faith. If we trust in people…we will be let down. If we trust ourselves…that is minimal life. If we trust God to teach us; we get what He can do in us and through us. ‘Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalms 27:14 When we speak of “child like faith” it reminds me of my grandchildren. They are at the age when they are so eager to learn, they are constantly asking “why Grandma?” “What does that word mean Grandma?” They are hungry to learn and they trust me to be honest with them without any question. When Christ called a little child to him; and placed the child among them. He said 3“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18: 2-4 Think of it like this…become like a child. It’s really too simple…isn’t. The question to yourself is whether or not you are able to “Let Go” and “Let God” be you’re Father to teach you His ways. “Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2. We have the ability through The Word of God and Prayer to silence all of the baggage we so eagerly want to get rid of. Jesus’ Teaching on Prayer Luke 11:1-13 “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our dailybread.4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us And lead us not into temptation.5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. 9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks; receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 “Which of you fathers’ if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Amen!!!
