Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana (TTAG) Ashanti-Brong Ahafo chapter has declared boycott of lectures since yesterday. They are protesting the withdrawal of trainee allowance by the government. The questions agitating my mind, however these: 1. How long will the boycott last? 2. In the event of a longer boycott, how will the students make up for the precious academic time lost? (Remember, end f semester exam is in February) 3. Is this action the best method in seeking solution to their problem? 4. Is the allowance so indispensable to teacher trainees? (Remember, Polytechnic students are not given any allowances and, unlike teacher trainees, are not guaranteed any employment after training.)
