Teaching handwriting help please! Hello all. I am just coming to the end of my NQT year YIPPEE!! I have my final (hopefully) observation as an NQT by the head on Friday and Im a little anxious about it... I will be teaching literacy, it is the last day of the unit of traditional tales and the children have been writing and editing their own tales. On Friday they are writing their edited stories onto special presentation paper. A display board is awaiting their beautiful work. Some have advised me not to have this lesson as an observation lesson, but, it is just where they are at with the unit. I would like to keep it and teach a lesson on the importance of presentation and neat hand writing. There is quite a strong emphasis on editing/cursive writing in the new curriculum (although I am year 2) Sorry for the waffly message, does anyone have any idea how I can teach the importance of neat presentation... my success criteria at the moment seems pretty weak (Using finger spaces, Using defined ascenders and desenders, Using line spaces between paragraphs). I guess my biggest concern is that Im not stretching the highers....
