Team Incirlik, While we have had success stopping uniform thefts on base recently, we’re still experiencing a number of bike thefts. There are a couple of ways you can help prevent this crime. 1. Lock up your bikes! The majority of stolen bikes were unsecured. It’s also not a bad idea to secure any easily pilfered items such as lights and helmets when locking up your bicycle. 2. Be vigilant! Report suspicious activity to Security Forces at 676-3200 or Eagle Eyes at 676-EYES (3937). As great as our Law Enforcement teams are, they can’t be everywhere at once. We need the thieves to know that we’re all watching and ready to report. We know bicycles mean a lot to some folks here since they are sometimes their only mode of transportation. Continue to work together as a community to spread the word about prevention and when to be on the lookout for stolen bikes. Please know that wing leadership is aware and engaged as well. -DL
