Team Jack, The last several weeks have had lots of changes so we wanted to send you a quick update. First, as we suspected Jack did not get in the trial we last posted about. We have applied for another as well (NOAH project) but in the meantime we feel very confident that God has other plans for the Bossman. Since that last post we have been informed that his doctors in NYC feel the MRI is good enough for us to head there and start the 8h9 antibody treatment that we have been trying to get to. We feel this is our window and a good thing, additional chemo and radiation may follow, but we will cross that bridge as we get to it. This of course comes with some challenges as well. Jack and Brady will need to be in NYC for his treatment for 2-3 days a week for the next 3 weeks and then back again for a follow up trip in December. As those visits occur we will also welcome our next child into the family on November 24th, and although Jack will miss the actual birth of his sister, he will arrive back home the day before Thanksgiving, having completed his treatment in NYC, and will get to meet his new sister and celebrate a much needed Thanksgiving day rest. Although busy times are ahead, we are excited and remain very hopeful as we ask for your prayers for safe travels and that the antibody treatment will be very effective. We pray for God’s abundant mercy to flow through Jack and guide his treatment, and we pray for the continued guidance and perseverance of his doctors and all who cross our path on this journey. Thank you for all of your support, and especially to the students and staff of Lial for organizing the fundraiser benefiting Mott Childrens Hospital, where they designed, produced, and sold really cool hats for the children (including Jack) to wear to school. We also thank the families at TDC Companies for doing a jeans day fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor foundation. These fundraisers generated thousands of dollars for two of the many organizations that we have relied on. May the glory and compassionate mercy of God continue to shine through us all as we rally around Jack. Love Brady and Katie
