Tearful goodbyes to my Seattle Pacific University teammates as we break for the weekend. Actually, some of them plan to work through the weekend, while some of the rest of us try to get some rest for the first time since the crisis began. I look forward to falling into the arms of my friends in The Thomas Parker Society at our gathering tonight. Reading, resting, being sad, and being grateful. And resting. Did I mention resting? I want to say a specific, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who have sent encouraging notes and even likes over the past 24 hours. Truly one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. This goes without saying, but please dont stop praying for SPU, as this is all just beginning for so many, including the family of the deceased.
