Tel-Aviv is a mind blowing city. What Ive noticed so far: -Its not just cosmetically diverse the people here all interact: I got drawn into a conversation at a cafe with a Russian, a Frenchman, and a Sudanese over the crisis in the Ukraine. Then there are all the different types of Jews you meet from all over the world. -Its not uncommon to see fresh faced 19 yr old soldiers walking around town with Assault Rifles. If shit goes down you know youre covered. -The people here are ridiculously beautiful. Its kind of frustrating sitting in a bar surrounded by folks who look like they just walked out of a Calvin Klein ad. -Speaking of bars, they never seem to close out here. Folks go at it well into the morning. -Israelis here in general are MUCH friendlier and open than the ones you meet backpacking. Its not even close. I checked out Jaffa today and in the midst of the Ottoman influenced architecture and Arabic restaurants there sat a Catholic Church. Interesting how everything converges. My own interest in the Bible is more historical than spiritual, but still cant wait to hit Jerusalem, Sea of Galilee, etc
