Telephone scams steal millions of dollars from seniors every year. Some even lose their life savings to fraudsters. That’s why I am cosponsoring H.R.1953, the Seniors Fraud Prevention Act, to improve education about fraud prevention and improve prosecution of these crimes. Make sure you and those you love and care for are aware of the warning signs of a phone scam. Call 1-877-FTC-HELP if a caller is rude or abusive, and to report a suspected scam.
