Ten.... Nine... Eight... This was it. They were getting closer and closer to the planet that was destined to replace earth. This was their new beginning. Seven... Six... Five... Galaxies, nebulas, hundreds upon thousands of worlds flew past his eyes, gone within a fraction of a second. Four... Was this it? Was this the whole of the universe? He didnt want to believe it. He didnt want to believe that it could all be ignored so easily. How many of those planets held life? How many had women, children, even, living among its their surfaces? How could they, mere humans, be anywhere near as important as they believed that they were? Three.. Was this really it? Two... What about this beginning was new? One... There was nothing new about this world, except, perhaps, the ways in which man might destroy it. God would not walk through this garden, and there would be no serpent to tempt those who stepped onto the virgin soil.
