Ten-Ten-Ten, a Literary Celebration on 08 and 09 November in Manan Bhawan National Book Trust, India, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and Cinedarbaar Welfare Society in collaboration with Cultural Affairs & Heritage Department, Government of Sikkim are organising Ten-Ten-Ten, a Literary Celebration on 08 and 09 November in Manan Bhawan, New Secretariat Building, Development Area, Gangtok. Ten-Ten-Ten will open with a Dastangoi performance by artists from Delhi. The word Dastangoi refers to the art of storytelling, it is a compound of two Persian words, Dastan and Goi which means to tell a Dastan. Head the Department of Management Studies, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Dr. Ajeya Jha will take a presentation focused on collecting Lepcha folklores depicting specific behaviour of a few bird species and assessing the scientific veracity of the fact they depict by direct observation or through literature and experience survey in his session Folklores through a Scientific Eye. Acoustic Traditional will also put up a performance exploring the oral folklores and storytelling traditions. Professor Balram Pandey will throw light on the Nepali Literature followed by a poetry recital by Apsara Dahal and Meena Subbu. Yishey Doma will explore the origin of the Lepchas in the context of her book, Legends of the Lepchas. The second day will also see a panel discussion on topics like Blogging - the emerging new media, Publishing Scenario in Sikkim and Word of Mouth- oral storytelling traditions.
