Ten more days and counting and Samuel has not lost his faith. He - TopicsExpress

Ten more days and counting and Samuel has not lost his faith. He believes that God is still able. Since the last time we wrote our face book family Samuel had been recently diagnosed with Evans Syndrome. We have had our share of up’s and down’s but recently we have been faced with a mountain. Samuel lost his platelets in May and the usual procedure to combat this episode would be an IVIG and steroid treatment and we would be up and going again for at least another six to seven months. But not this time, Samuel body recognized the treatment and decided to continue to destroy his platelets. We have been in the hospital at least two or more days a week getting and trying new treatments to restore his platelets. Recently we traveled every Monday for 4 weeks to New Orleans Children’s Hospital to receive a treatment called Rituximab. This treatment was one out of four treatments Samuel has tried this summer. Our hope was high that Samuel would respond to this treatment but we all know that a delay does not mean that you have been denied. Due to the many attempts we are on our way to Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA on September 29th. Yes, 10 days and counting but before we fly off there are some people we have to thank: Beauregard Memorial Hospital has been absolutely WONDERFL! They have worked with other hospitals and doctors to treat Samuel in his home town which afforded me the opportunity to work, parent and be there for Sam. Words could never express my gratitude for all the things your staff has done and the love you have shown towards my family. Dr. Dobbins, my heart swells up when I think of your unmeasurable commitment and devotion towards the well-being of my child. Thank You! My place of employment has been more than a job. The people there have been my family! Thank You to the Ocean’s bunch and a big THANKS to my family and friends for your continue support. Please keep us in your prayers. Remember Sam by wearing something red for the next 10 days simply to remind you to tell others to pray for Samuel. The color red stands for so many things that are near and dear to Sam. The Evans Syndrome attacks your blood cells; white, red and platelets. Samuel love baseball and his favorite team so happens to be the Boston Red Sox. Last but certainly not least Ezekiel 16:6 reads, “I passed by and saw you there, wallowing in your own blood; and as you lay in your blood I said to you, Live! Yes, I said to you, as you lay in your blood, Live! PRAY WITH US 10 DAYS AND COUNTING.
