Ten of my students performed yesterday for the Asbury-Harris senior citizens. The seniors were so gracious and they truly enjoyed our program. The students performed on an old piano with all of the tops of the keys brown and broken, it was terribly out of tune, but the students played well. I told everyone about how Andre Watts, famous concert pianist, learned to play the piano on an old Lester grand with 26 broken strings, so there was no excuse. Pianists must adjust, one never knows what instrument will await them. Congratulations to Symone Williams, Darren Hall, Meghan Lewis, Mr. Mitchell Shelby, Bethany Gibson, Gigi Mitchell, Shania Barker, Jaiden Palmer, Ayanna Battle, Kwesi Carter and Grace Lisbon.
