Terms of Reference Intern, Judicial Strengthening Program in Kyrgyzstan The International Development Law Organization (IDLO) works to enable governments and empower people to reform laws and strengthen institutions to promote peace, justice, and sustainable development. Overview: IDLO seeks an intern for an exciting opportunity to assist with implementation of a multi-faceted program in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Working together with Judicial Strengthening Team in Bishkek and the Central Asian Program team at the Headquarters in Rome (Italy), the candidate will undertake the following duties and responsibilities: • Working on timely delivery of the following outputs of the USAID/IDLO Judicial Strengthening Program in Kyrgyzstan: Judicial training; Legal resources; E-justice; Awareness-raising • Undertaking research into trends and best practices in Rule of Law and related topics; • Assisting with monitoring and evaluation tools for Russian-language projects; • Assisting with other day-to-day administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor. • Assisting with project development planning and contracting Minimum Requirements & How to Apply IDLO seeks an intern with a genuine interest and passion for the Organization’s mission, in Particular, for our activities in Central Asia. The ideal candidate will have: • An undergraduate degree in law, social sciences, politics, international relations, development studies or similar field is required. A master’s degree in a similar area is beneficial. • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Russian, strong demonstrated ability to draft,layout and revise legal documents; • Ability to multitask in a fast paced international environment, working both independently, as well as acting as a strong team player; • Strong research skills, in particular comparative legal research; • Solid organizational skills; and • Advanced computer expertise, in particular with databases, power point, editing, publishing software and social networks.
