Testimony 12/6/2014 by Brian Duncan My body has kept me prisoner in my home now for a while. I havent been to the streets for a long time now, and tearfully miss it everyday. Today, I had an opportunity to visit a couple of places I used to frequent. I forgot how beautiful the Bride is! I forgot what it felt like to be embraced by her. Her eyes of compassion, her touch of concern, her unconditional love! What I speak of is the Church! Not the one your thinking of, but the one Jesus talks about. His Beautiful Bride! She lives in our gutters, she eats from our dumpsters, she has nothing of worldly value, she smells, she sometimes has vomit on her, sometimes urine. This Bride never looks down on me or feels superior to me, she loves me. Today as I stepped out of my car, a woman yelled down an alley and across the street at me and my wife and then walked, staggerdly, towards us. She embraced my wife first, but as this was going on I had a man, a drug dealer/banger, hugging me so tight I almost couldnt breath and telling me through his tears how much he has missed me and loves me. So now the woman staggers over to me and so stands the three of us; me, the woman and the man. They both rub my arm with love that words cant describe, and then asks me if they could pray for me! The three of us are standing in the hood of KC with our arms wrapped around each other crying and praying. My next stop was in Liberty, and I got to see a brother that has a Jesus heart feeding multitudes of familys! Handing out groceries. I can honestly say I truly love this man. His hugs are like being in the arms of Christ! He just held me today and whispered he loves me and prayed and laid hands on my crippled up body. So much love today! So much Jesus today! I got to spend it with a couple that I love and respect dearly. My question is: Why isnt my church like this? Where are the John the Baptist in our churchs? Where are the prophets in our churchs? My answer: the church, the one Jesus talks about, is living in the street right now! She is poor, she is broken, she is an outcast, she is not of this world! Today I got to be loved by her! Praise God!
