Testimony time. This i gotta tell, so that you may be strengthened in faith and and tire not in holding on to that divine hope. January 2011 and i traveled for a burial in Kitui. Somebody noticed my absence in the shop and planned robbing me. It was an m-pesa and mobile phone selling outlet- a small shop. They succeeded too. They had a master key and they got in and robbed me of ksh 53000 cash, and phones worth over ksh 25000. That was at night, while i was on the way back from the burial. Morning. I came to work at about 7AM. Found the door open. Called my wife who worked at the shop and told her. She was distraught. Cried so hard. The man that i am, i pushed on with life, even went on to restock and recapitalize the m-pesa shop but my wife told me her heart was not in it anymore, so we changed the business to electronics and electrical, the way it was before. I was very discouraged and prayed to God with a heavy heart. How could my shop be robbed, while we have a God who never slumbers? Two weeks ago, two and a half years later, i came to the shop to open, just as i usually do at 7.30am or thereabout. I got a person, male waiting for me. I though he was an early customer, but he waited patiently for me as i served the customers who came later than him as i finished opening. Afterwards, i told him how i can help him. He identified himself as Joel, and told me that he was the brother of the man who robbed me. I was shocked as he told me why he had come. He told me that Joshua, his brother came home to Loitoktok in january 2011 with a generator and two Wahl hair clippers-obviously with the money he had robbed me, to start a kinyozi. In two months time, the hair clippers were out of commission. The generator then caught fire and burned a child` hands but not seriously- the child could have been playing with it- so i surmised. Later on, Joshua developed a pimple on his lap which developed slowly to a big lump. Then his leg swelled. Seriously swelled and became white and them it started sweating abnormally, it was wetting anything they tied it with. I was close to tears. I was wondering to God, all this time, you had set in motion things that will make me recover my money, and there was me thinking that you had forgotten? As he went on to explain, i deduced that they could have gone to a witchdoctor and they were told that the sickness had come from Joshua stealing some amount of money in Mtwapa. But the way he told me is that they have tried to take Joshua to Arusha for treatment to no avail and that he recently, fearing that he might die told them that before he came home he had together with somebody else robbed a shop in Mtwapa. Now the brother said something there: that Joshua told them that the leg that was swollen is the leg that was stepping into the shop while he watched out for the guy who was inside the shop, breaking the cash till box. Now he wondered, if Joshua`s leg was in that state, and he only stepped halfway into the shop, isn`t it possible that the guy who went into the shop is dead? I was shaken to the bones and my fear of the Lord was tripled, if not quadrupled. Now Joel told me that the reason of his visit was to find me and tell me that they will as a family pay back my money so Joshua can get well. Three days later, after he left, he called me and told me to reduce Joshuah`s pain alittle, that they will be coming by the end of the week. I was left stunned. How could i reduce somebody`s pain, while it was not i who instilled it in the first place? After we had talked, that monday, i had prayed to God to have mercy on Joshua and when Joel was calling me, told me Joshua had since that monday been painless, until then. Then he tried calling me on sunday, 30th june, because they did not bring money that weekend, but i had put off my phone because i was in church. So he wrote an sms. I stil have the sms in my phone . It says "Tunaomba kama familia, mpungusie uchungu, tuitakuja JUMANNE HII? uchungu umemwansia usiku". Again i prayed and told God, i cannot do what they are asking me to do, but God, only you can. And when they came they on tuesday, they told me that pain had left him from that sunday. Now i don`t know how God works, and the best i could do was pray for them, so when they came, the father told me that they have brought the money and that he knew- his very words- mtu akiimbiwa ng`ombe wake, kuna pale huwa anaenda, ndio arudishiwe mali yake. Sasa vile tumpekurudishioa ng`ombe wako, enda hapo, mtoto wangu apone. I told the man that i am saved. H e told me that Joshua had told him that too, and that he himself is saved too. There and then, i found an answer about what to do. Earlier on, on monday night, when Joel had called me from Emali and told me that they are on the way, i had though of going to the police. Most of the people i talked to advised me to go to the police. But the moment he told me that, i found an avenue open for us all. I told the man that i never went nowhere, that maybe the painful prayers i prayed may have been the cause of Joshua`s bad health and that there was no secret place i will go. I requested for them to hold my hands and i prayed for Joshua`s forgiveness and his healing. I told God that because if the disease had come because of Joshua stealing my money, then heal him Lord, seeing that i have gotten it back and i have forgiven him. I also told God that even if the disease had not come because of that robbery, still heal him Lord, so he can testify of your mercies and goodness. When i said Amen, the old man had no doubt that that was enough and his son will get well. We as a family forgave him and we really hope and pray he get better. Apart from getting my money back, now i am assured that no one will take the product of my sweat and walk away in peace- glory be to God. I hope this helps someone to know for sure that vengeance belongs to God. If something like this happens to you, leave it to God and as was my case, no matter how many days, or years it will take, he will repay you back.
