Texas is where the “spirit of capitalism,” free enterprise and free trade is still alive. "America needs a natural energy policy that creates more jobs and will free our nation from working with oil-producing countries in the Middle East. These same countries who loathe America. We need to work with friendly nations like CAN and MEX to develop a closer trade agreement like the Keystone Pipeline. We need to eliminate regulations that, under the EPA, hinder job-creation in a states like Texas. According to the conservative Manhattan Institute, trade with Mexico and Canada for oil and natural gas can generate about $2 trillion annually in revenue for the US. And Texas sits in the center of this natural resources “trade corridor.” I will support an energy policy that creates jobs, minimizes the influence of the EPA, and gives us independence from “hot spots” in the Middle East."
