Thai Rath News. 12 October 2014. K-1 ready to sue Buakaw K-1 Global is preparing to sue Buakaw for damages after he did not complete his fight according to his contract. A press conference will be held on 13 October 2014 at Golden Tulip Hotel. Fans flock to post messages of encouragement. Buakaw Banchamek left the ring at the end of 3 rounds of his championship title fight in the K-1 World MAX Finals (Thailand), after it was ruled a tie & decided that there would be a fourth (extension) round. Both parties (the organisers, & Buakaw) have remained silent on what led to this turn of events. The representative of K-1 Thailand, Hong Kong & Macau said that this is a matter for K-1 Global to deal with & decide how to proceed, as K-1 Thailands responsibility is only to stage the event. Acting Lt. Teerawat Yioyim, Buakaws manager, said that Buakaw had fulfilled the requirements of his contract in entirety by fighting 3 rounds, & would not comment further on the issue as he believes that the people of Thailand are aware of what has been happening all along. On the Banchamek Gym facebook page, a photo of Buakaw sitting in his hotel room with the message sorry for making fans confused, you might understand later was posted at about 2:00AM today. It has since garnered more than 20,000 Likes & been shared more than 1000 times. This shows that the overwhelming majority supports him & believes that the reason for him deciding to leave the ring before the end of the fight is to do with gambling, which Buakaw had filed a report about prior to the fight. Before this event, the teams of all fighters involved had to meet several regulations imposed by the organisers. These included being forbidden to bring any of their own food or drink for their personal consumption; a change in fight rules less than 24 hours before the competition to forbid throw downs; & a requirement for all fighters to have their hands wrapped by 8:00PM. The K-1 Global head office is preparing to file a lawsuit to recover damages from Buakaw, alleging that he did not fulfil his contract with them by completing the fight. They will hold a press conference on this matter on 13 October 2014 at 2:00PM at Golden Tulip Hotel Sovereign on Rama 9 Road. ......translated by Hua Ying........
