How could a rational thinking person expect otherwise? The faint hope that well fix things in the next election shows how delusional the general public truly is. Solution? - Actually, yes. Abolish the central government and do it now before countless millions die. The sovereign states created the central government, and the sovereign states could legally and peacefully abolish it. (In theory) The independent states would be far better off without it. So would the entire world.
