Thank you Jeff! Glad to be here. I promise my future post will not be as lengthy as my first. So here it goes. I have exhausted myself with reading all the forums, reviews etc.. I am an Acoustic newbie. Well, I started 2 years ago. I sold off nearly all of my electric guitars & gear & started my Acoustic quest for the one. I have bought/sold/traded many over the past 2 years trying to find both the sound & comfort that really works for me. Just a brief history, I have owned a few Yamaha Series,Custom Order GPCPA Hog, Santa Cruz (Rosewood), D35, D18 (standard with 2012 new specs)... All fantastic guitars & obviously have there own individual sounds/strengths. Ive finally realized that I am a Mahogany guy. I would of kept my D18 but the Martin high performance neck was way to shallow/thin & killed my hands. I simply could not play it after months of trying to get use to it. I love the Soft V neck of Santa Cruz. So I have it narrowed down to a D18GE or a D16 Adirondack. My question is can anyone give me advice on the necks b/w the two. I have to buy this next guitar sight unseen unfortunately so I am seeking some help. Is there anyone out there that has played & can compare a Santa Cruz soft V vs a D18GE &/or a D16 Adi? Or even compared the D18GE neck to other Martins? I prefer a thicker neck but read many stories where people had to sell cause of the neck. My apologies for the short story. I just wanted to give you as much info as possible. Thank you for your time!
