Thank you Lisa-marie Gannetta. This is powerful and moving and one of the reasons that when I take the puppies in the car, I always lock the doors and leave it running. Because I love my dogs as much as I love my kids, and I think anyone who leaves a kid or a dog in a car to die needs to suffer the same fate. And yes, I know ... why do I take my dogs everywhere with me? Why dont I just leave them at home? Because theyre both neurotic bastards that cant live without me, and separation anxiety is a real problem, and Id rather not put them down. So I choose to lock the car and hope that no one wants to tangle with a mean looking bullie and a barking mutt and limit my trips to essential trips during the hot months. And I would never ever leave my kid in the car. Not even for a second.
