Thank you Srilanka! “It’s wonderful opportunity for Nepal cricket. For our growth we need to keep playing international games. I am delighted with ACC’s initiative and special thanks to my Hong Kong counterpart Charlie Burke to make this tour happen,” said national team coach Pubudu Dassanayake. “Our team will gain lots of experience from this tour by playing international games and longer version in a full member country.” Dassanayake and his Hong Kong counterpart Burke had met in South Korea during the 17th Asian Games and the two coaches agreed to have a Twenty20 series between them. “Burke told me that he was going to request the ACC for that and it got materialized promptly,” informed Dassanayake. ACC Development Officer Bandula Warnapura had initially proposed the SLC to host four top non-Test playing countries including Nepal, Hong Kong, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since, Afghanistan and UAE are preparing for the 2015 World Cup slated for February-March in Australia and New Zealand, the two teams could not be available for the tour. Nepal will also tour Sri Lanka from October 12-21 as a part of their preparation for the ICC World Cricket League Division-III to be held in Malaysia from October 23-30. np.ekantipur/the-kathmandu-post/2014/10/08/sports/nepal-to-meet-hk-in-first-ever-t20i-series/268304.html - TKP
