Thank you Sue Calhoun for bringing this to my attention. I followed up with Rod Higgins and Dan Hicks at Parks and they were both aware of this situation. It seems that this individual is doing this as a form of protest and is testing the limits of what can be done in a park. Park staff talked to him and advised him to stop the golfing as it was dangerous and also damages the lawn. He continued, so a by-law enforcement officer came to have a chat with him. Unfortunately the by-law does not specifically refer to golf but it is an activity that is obviously discouraged! I suppose we could add specific activities into our by-laws, but really…can’t legislate common sense, I guess! Park staff will be keeping a close eye on this. Thanks again Sue.
