Thank you all for your very kind and compassionate concern for my Sweet Gracie. I love her so much, this has really hit me hard. Her lab result came back inconclusive again. The Amoxy she has been on did not kill whatever is causing bacteria to still be present in her system. We lost a German Shepherd many years ago to a UTI, (NOT THIS CLINIC OR VET!) which was not treated properly for his ongoing UTI. It resulted in a blood clot to his brain, he had a stroke and we lost him. Was devastating. Gracie had another, more detailed physical exam today, an XRay, more sample taken for more cultures and was switched to Bactim. She goes back again in 17 days to be rechecked again. The Vet DID RULE OUT the following: Cushings, Thyroid and Diabetes. Her XRay shows degenerative arthritis in her spine. :( She has many lumps but I am leaving them alone as they could cause more issues if disturbed. Cancer or another auto immune disorder are still possiblities but for now just treating the UTI more aggressively. Next visit an MRI may performed. I am going to to go rest, very tired.
