Thank you all for your wishes, and thank you friends and loved ones for the solace and support you have provided in what has been an emotionally difficult year. Now that Im 40 (or, as a fictional TV policeman would so memorably say, farty), Ill never be the cricketer that one namesake has ended up becoming (thank you Virat), but Im sure therell be a few more flourishes of the pen (and hopefully a book or three!) before I reach my half-century. Its a journey I look forward to excitedly, the next 10 years, both alone and in the company of companions and cats :-) May you all enjoy a peaceful and happy 2015!
