Thank you all so much for your care and concern about my brother, Doug. He is improving and the signs are positive. He is following commands, raising his fingers when asked, and chuckled when the nurse asked him if he tooted. When one of his daughters made a joke, he not only raised the fingers requested, but then raised his middle finger. Yep, thats a great sign that his sense of humor is intact. He is having a tracheotomy today to facilitate breathing and we know there is a long road ahead. For now, we are so pleased to see the signs that he is not only stable, but improving. Love and kisses to all friends and family who have been so supportive.
