Thank you to all who pray for us regularly on our travels throughout the Northwest. We know Gods protection is all around us and we may never know about the potential dangers as we travel. However, for those who were praying specifically for us Saturday afternoon: I was driving (please understand that Im the least experienced foul-weather driver between us) through the Blue Mountains when the road conditions changed from dry to wet to slush. I decided to pass a slow semi-truck on the left and hit some black ice. We fish-tailed for a little bit and then started to slide sideways. No one was behind us (Gods grace) or beside us and I woke Brent up to what do I do? What do I do? (He had been dozing). In my panic I hit the brakes (gently) and turned the wheel into the spin. We finally stopped after a 360* turn, just off the road (Gods grace), out of the way of traffic with no bodily injury and no damage to the car. (We did replace two tires the next day.) We are grateful that we were able to proceed on without any problems (Brent drove from that point on) and had a great time of fellowship at Calvary Baptist Church especially with the members of the team that came to the Philippines three years ago. Praise God with us for His protection.
