Thank you to everyone who has voiced their support of Roman over the past few days. He is doing well with his rescuer as decisions are made on what the best next step will be for Roman. We have received some inquiries into our policies and procedures that we would like to clarify at this time in hopes of avoiding any concern or confusion. Pawmetto Lifeline is a 501c3 No-Kill shelter that saves homeless pets directly from muncipal shelters in the Midlands. We pull heartworm positive dogs from these shelters to provide treatment and a second chance at life. Each pet is assessed by our medical team. We adopt out heartworm positive dogs that are otherwise healthy and provide treatment for FREE to the dog while in the care of their new owners. We believe that the love and care of a family will help them recover with less stress. Because we pull from local municipal shelters, pets are exposed to a variety of illness before they come to our facility. Kennel Cough is a common illness we see in rescued pets. Our medical team oversees the treatment of each case specifically. Once a pet is deemed by our medical team as bring, alert, eating, and drinking they are released to go and continue their recovery with their new families.
