Thank you to my dear sweet and most talented mom Betty Anglin Smith, who is my biggest inspiration, for nominating me to this fun artist Facebook challenge. Without her I doubt I would be so lucky to have a career as an artist. She has always been so supportive,encouraging and loving. I feel so blessed to have inherited her passion for art and of course the colorgene! She also modeled amazingly how to balance life as a mother and an artist. She and her artist buddies (Eva, Rhett, Margaret, Susan, Martha, etc) were the core of the charleston art community when I finished college in the mid 90s...their success gave me the courage to paint full time right out of college! For Day 1 I thought it would be appropriate to post some from the first few years out college because you can see how influenced I was by my moms work! Not sure of title of 1st one. 2nd is Edisto Skies. 3rd is The Audubon House which was from a trip to Key West. It actually won the Walt Disney Purchase Award at the Festival of the Masters in 1997.
