Thankfully the storm had blown over before we had began to set up, - TopicsExpress

Thankfully the storm had blown over before we had began to set up, a little damp but nevertheless a nice night was had and a yummy nutritious meal served. Lots of regular faces and a few new ones. We did two services today, one at lunch and our usual dinner tonight, because of the unpredictability of the weather, and it was a good opportunity to catch up with people at lunch to find out if they needed anything, as if it had stormed tonight many might not have been able to get there. As it turned out rained at neither. For lunch we served all the wonderful food that Meegan and Wayne kindly donated that was leftover from their Wedding last night. ( thank you and congratulations again ). Tonight we served, salad ( every type imaginable, including a large tossed advocado & salmon and a potato egg one from Lochiel House ),Italian Chicken Drumsticks with Penne Pasta, Sausages, mashed pumpkin, and for dessert, Custard Tart, Trifle & Ice cream, washed down with bottled water, cordial, tea and coffee, with Christmas Cookies made with love from Rouse Hill Anglican College. Everyone had a meal, salad, dessert, cookies and bread to take if they wanted, and most did. The lovely Silvia from Angels for the Homeless with Pets was there to help ensure our four legged patrons had food and supplies too. Three dogs were there, four if you count my little foxy Molly. She also kindly supplied cat food to two our our rough sleepers. Silvia truly is an angel for the homeless with pets. It was a really nice relaxed atmosphere tonight, and everyone was in good spirits, despite the pounding many have received from the weather these past few days, and the constant dampness, as possessions barley have had time to dry out before another storm hit. Lots of laughs were had by all and many smiles to kids faces, as we were kindly donated some kids jackets and raincoats today ( brand new in packs ), Dora, Princess, cars and alike. They all chose one, modelled them, and were proudly wearing them when they bid us goodbye with a huge THANK YOU !! :) Many thanks to tonights team & chefs Lynne, Jolan, Jan, Cathy and Kym, everyone who contributed and everyone of you for continued support. It was a really nice night !! Linda x
