Thanks Allora Sponsors & Community Supporters Some unusual - TopicsExpress

Thanks Allora Sponsors & Community Supporters Some unusual comments today had me thinking, and given I am involved in or have contact with many community groups, clubs and the like, I feel I can comment. I was amazed that some people have so little understanding of the support our business community afford the Allora community, and for that matter many business houses on a wider front, such as Warwick, Toowoomba & further afield. Allora has quite a number of groups, clubs & organisations or causes that would struggle to survive without sponsorship, sponsorship made available by our generous local businesses & some generous individuals. In my experience in the Allora area sponsorship can be a monetary amount that can range from $15.00 or thereabouts to a figure in the 1,000s. It can also be in kind, or be a prize given from the stock of a business house. With every event that is hosted around Allora, organisers at some stage head to the main street, industrial estate, anywhere a business is located in search of sponsorship or donation in some form. I am well aware how many requests, written or verbal, that some Alloras businesses receive, and deal with, with understanding and generosity. I have to say that those that give willingly mostly take pride in being a contributor. Our big events like Heritage Weekends, annual Shows, sporting carnivals, school events, community events, charity functions, our sporting clubs, our achievers in need of financial support to enable them to reach their goals, or take their place in high level events or representative teams, all need sponsorship support. We also have museums & other community facilities (sporting facilities, showgrounds, etc) that need support in various ways to survive and provide the special things for our community. Yes, our local achievers and events may bring prestige to our community, prestige and the opportunity to have Alloras name known nationally & internationally, an example of late the achievements of sporting identities Laura Geitz, Greg Holmes & Matt Denny. We also have examples of people outside of sport, along with events that stand tall as community achievements, due to the efforts of our groups, clubs & organisations.. And yes those supportive sponsors can profit from the events they support & sponsor. But to support the events is a choice they make, they dont have to give that support and would likely still benefit. For me the Allora district is so very fortunate to have the business community we have, all so very supportive, some amazingly so. I have been one who has knocked on their door, and yes, I will do it again. I think its important we as a community try to always keep that in mind. Thankyou Allora businesses and individuals who support our wonderful community from their own pocket. I try always to support those who support our community, even if it does cost a little more ! Our community would be so much poorer without our sponsors !!. Cheers. Give a Like if you agree or have been able to enjoy an opportunity thanks to local sponsorship !
