Thanks! Chrissie Robinson for the tag! Here is my top ten list of performance that changed the way I think of theatre and performance in no particular order!!! Robert Reid Terminus (2011)- taught me that verbal storytelling can be more powerful than any one physical design. Pin Drop (2011)- taught me the power of transformative sound design Hofesh Shechters Sun (2014)- taught me that non verbal modes of performance can make you want to jump out of your seat. Life and Times Episodes 1-4 (2013) taught me there is pleasure and joy in banality Einstein on The Beach (2013) - taught me the vital and indistinguishable link between performance and design No Child (2013)- taught me the sheer, unstoppable power of the actor The Wild Duck (2012)- taught me there is infinite and exciting possibility even in the most restricting of design and that adaptation is necessary and important. Hedda Gabler(Melbourne Festival)(2011)- taught me about the heavyweight that is the German theatre aesthetic The Story of O(2013)- taught me that the theatre should be able to elicit a response so strong one can’t remain passive. Richard III with Kevin Spacey (2011)- Taught me there are actually three types of actors. bad ones, good ones, and actors who draw you in and hold you in awe both of sheer talent of the actor and at the same time the total transformation of the actor into character, to the point where you don’t even notice acting. Now its my time to nominate! I nominate James Hogan Jimmy Dalton Julie LynchDominic Mercer
