Thanks Marsha Moulton! 12 facts about me.... 1. I was born as a rubella baby. My mom got German measles during her pregnancy with me. 2. I had cataract lens surgeries when i was 7 and 9 months old. My left eye has been lazy since. Im so thankful for my precious vision in my right eye! 3. I had my first heart surgery when I was 6 years old. Im so thankful for the 2 important men who saved my precious life! President Spencer W. Kimball who was one of the 12 Apostles at that time and gave me a wonderful blessing the day before I went in the LDS Hospital. Elder Russell M. Nelson who was my heart surgeon operated on my heart! I had been recovered for a few years and my heart has been fine since! 4. I received my education at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts for 13 years. They had a special program for the deaf - blind students. I flew back to Salt Lake City to spend Christmas and Summer times with my family every year for 13 years. 5. I loved Girl Scouts very much. I went camping few times up in some mountains and went on a special trip to visit the United Nation Center and toured NYC! FUN! 6. I loved being a cheerleader at the wrestling matches at my school. I competed in the cheerleader tournament and almost won 3rd place. It was a good experience for me! 7. I loved being a candy stripper at the LDS Hospital for 3 summers! I was the only deaf candy stripper and did some volunteer work 3 days a week! It was a good experience for me! 8. Im thankful for being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! 9. I visited the LDS Deaf Branch for the first time when I was 16 years old. I loved it very much! I learned sign language by watching everyone signing! 10. I left Perkins School and entered Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City! I was very happy to be home with my family! I missed out a lot at home while I was away at Perkins School for 13 years! Then I graduated in 1976! 11. I worked part time as a library pager at the Calvin Smith Library near my home for 6 years. I enjoyed putting books back on the shelves! 12. I attended the BYU Workshop for the Deaf Youth for 7 summers! I loved being in a big deaf family! Yes, I was the only deaf in my hearing family but I was very blessed to meet another deaf guy who became my first husband! Weve been married for 31 years! We spent our first 23 years in California before we moved to St George and have been living here for 8 years! We LOVE St George very much! We love the ASL Branch and the ASL community very much! We are very happy!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
