Thanks all. There are a lot of people doing this ride. Some with good results, some with bad. Some take a year to go as far as we are going in 5-6 weeks. The reason I wanted to do it is to see if I like it or not. My plan is to travel to South America another year, then work my way back if I like it. I would want to take more time on the return trip, or make several trips out of it. I really just wanted to see what it was all about. There are probably 20 other riders right now racing to get to the Steelratt, a boat to take them around the Darrian Gap, to travel to Columbia. It sails on december 6th. Some of them left months ago, some of them got into Mexico after we did and are B lining it right to the boat. Although we all belong to the same form, ADV Rider, and read each others reports, you do not know what its all about till you try it yourself. Thanks to dozens of other reports and countless hours of reading them, it sure makes something like this easier. There are also several of the form members following along on Facebook, and are dropping tips and hint along the way. Thanks guys! That said, you dont know for sure till you try it yourself. I must admit that without the help of that form and its members, this would surly be a lot different trip. Its not like Im discovering a lost civilization or trecking thru the jungle with a machete or anything. Im just eager to share it with my friends, family and pay it forward to repay what I have learned from other riders so it may help the next guy! Plus........anyone that knows me, knows that I just ant happy till I try it for myself. And I will be fooked if I am going to be one of those guys sitting around the coffee shop, in the exact same place I have been sitting for 30 years, with the same frown on my face, criticizing everyone elses moves. Tuck fhat! Once you have tried it and you like it or dont like it.....then you can talk however you want. And that goes for just about everything! Thats one of the 3 things that have drove me the hardest in the last 21 years my business, the same business, that I kept in the back of my mind all these years. I guess I should say thanks to them. Naa! Any who, we are getting packed up to head out to Antigua once we get Cam on the go and fed. We are heading to Julio,s house for tonight. He is a form member, and as he has done for dozens of other members, he is going to do for us, put up with us for the night and maybe show us a few things. We should be on the road in about a half hour or so. Ttyl
