Thanks for all your messages and best wishes for my dad. I was overwhelmed by all the supportive messages I have received. My dad was diagnosed in November with lung cancer and apart from a little breathing difficulty he has been super fit. Doctors tested him and said he was healthy enough to survive with one lung and also to survive any operation. They decided to do a smaller operation though just removing half a lung. Whilst theres risks with any ops this should not have been a life threatening operation in anyway. Tuesday he had the op. He was fine and laughing and chatting up the nurses on Saturday night when I last saw him awake. Something unexplainable happened after I saw him that meant Since Sunday hes been on life support . Today I was told he didnt have much longer. I stayed with him today and held his hand while he had 3 cardiac arrests in his sleep and finally after constantly trying to resuscitate him we let him go We asked to speak to the surgeon. who said he cant explain it . He said Maybe something went wrong . Maybe in the op, or maybe he was given too much of something after. , or maybe he caught an infection in hospital. He is clueless but agrees this should not of happened . Either way if he hadnt have been at hammersmith hospital my dad would still be alive Sat with him few hours after because i didnt want to leave him . I come out. ... I have a parking ticket Off home for bottle of wine and cuddle with my son . This is the saddest day of my life. Xxx Rest in peace daddy
